" have had Canon PowerShot A630 Digital camera for several months now, and have shot thousands of photos. THe camera is versital, with many good features, and has excellent macro and zoom capabilities. Unfortunatley, b/c I am an outdoors kinda person, killed two of the cam...eras due to dust and sand inside of them. The camera is otherwise very durable. Upon sending the cameras into Canon, I was told that the problem was an expensive fix, and was NOT covered by warrenty."

"Canon PowerShot A630 Digital camera is a tremendous camera. Forget the A640. If you can live with the silver rather than the black - you just don't have to pay for 10MPix. This camera will produce fantastic images. It can focus to just 1cm in macro mode - battery life is excellent and it runs on AAs. It has full manual, AV and shutter priority modes as well as two simple point and shoot modes - Program and Auto, plus a host of other features. Video mode is good quality - although you can't use the optical zoom once you start shooting in video.
On the down side it does seem to indicate camera shake indoors quite often when not on flash, but you can work round this by ensuring you don't have too much zoom. This camera is a great value - offering almost as much as the G7 for half the price and it has a flip out screen which you will come to love. It certainly has everything the 640 offers but with 8 MPix - on a compact you don't need any more. "

"Canon PowerShot A630 Digital camera is my second Canon digital camera. I loved the first one but my hubby thought I needed an upgrade and got me this one for Christmas. I'm having a great time documenting our lives, from family events to vacations. I'm not very technical, so this is the perfect camera for me. Its easy to use and if I can't figure something out, the manual is easy to understand. Nice sharp photos. I love the flip out view screen - it makes it really easy to shoot difficult scenes. I just keep an extra set of rechargable batteries in my camera case so I am always ready, even when the batteries in the camera wear down. It does have a pretty long battery life - I don't have to replace them too often. I do have a bit of a problem focusing on close up items, but that is probably due to my inexperience. There are alot of advanced features I don't use, but this is a great camera for both the novice and experienced user. I really like the pre-programmed settings for different scenes. The viewing screen is nice and big so I can preview my photos easily. I highly recommend this camera to anyone - you will take great photos. The photo attached is one I took on our last vacation, using the night scene and no flash. Please click on it to see the whole photo - If I can do that -- anyone can ! "

"Canon PowerShot A630 Digital camera is such a nice unit - very similar to my old A60, but improved greatly overall. I would recommend this camera to anyone - Canon PowerShot A630 Digital camera is such a great value.
